It is quite natural that people feel obliged to use the 'family solicitor'.

But should you?

The Legal Services Act 2007 was passed by Government to counter the monopoly that Solicitors have held for years. Having originated from that profession we agree with some of the arguments that the ethical values held by Solicitors is undervalued.

On the other hand, we feel that the over-regulation of Solicitors has driven them to become expensive and uncommercial. They no longer offer value for money and nor has their regulator required them to adopt new commercial and technological methods of business.

You are the client. It is your choice because the services are paid from your money. You are free to use whoever you see fit as offerring the best service at the most commercial rate.
